WWF New Zealand (World Wide Fund for Nature) is launching a new competition, Ocean: Views.
It seeks to encourage an exploration between people and the ocean, which has formed such a crucial part of so many cultures and beliefs.
Best thing is, it’s totally supporting freedom of expression, as it’s for artists of all mediums – whether it be music, art, film, creative writing.
There is a launch for Ocean: Views this saturday at the Wellington waterfront, and I am privileged enough to be one of two artists making a big piece of chalk-art as part of the promotion! It’s going to be a lot of fun, and the lovely Helen W and myself will be there from 11am-2pm, so if you are around, please come support WWF, we would love to see you there!
Despite my previous claims to putting art aside for a bit…
Also, since I haven’t posted any inspiration for a while – I have rediscovered the wonder that is James Jean, Taiwanese born artist + illustrator, now of great renown for both his personal and commercial work. Saw his prints in a shop on Cuba St yesterday…swoon.
